Nutrient Packed and Family Approved
Summer time for me is when I drink the most smoothies! Nothing like cooling down mid morning or afternoon with a nutrient packed smoothie sure to please even you pickiest toddler! Here are 3 easy recipes.
Do you not like eating many veggies or fruit? That is what I love about smoothies, you can pack SO many great fruits, veggies and protein to make it a very nutritious snack.
What toddler is going to sit down and eat a handful of fresh spinach? Not sure many, but my girl gets a handful of fresh spinach in every smoothie I make for her! I never have a hard time getting her to eat fruit or yogurt, but both of those are also great things to add into your smoothies.
We love using our Vitamix Blender that we have got from Costco, it has made smoothie making a breeze and truly chops up anything you put in it. I love being able to add any veggies, mostly carrots, kale and/or spinach, but most blenders will not completely blend up these veggies, then it seems like you are chewing more than having a smoothie. Which we ALL know with a picky toddler, having chunks of spinach coming through a straw means, smoothie is YUCKY!
This spring at Costco they had a demo with these new Vitamin Single to-go containers and they are great! You just add enough for one smoothies and blend then GO! I also have chopped up carrots and onions for other meals as well using this little blender!
