Take Away the Wet Dog Smell
If you have dogs you totally get the nasty wet dog smell! Well it has been rainy off and on here in Colorado for the last week or so and after the dogs come in from outside that smell has started to appear…Ewww! I have been diffusing some of my oils, but that hasn’t seemed to cut the smell quite enough, since it is on the dogs. So I decided to bust out a ‘Rainy Day Dog Spray,’ and it should do the trick!
I love using oils as much as I can around the house to keep things natural and chemical free, helps keep the whole family healthy. I also, trust using Young Living Oils on our family and pups because of their *’Seed to Seal Guarantee.’ They Guarantee that their oils are 100% pure and therapeutic grade oils.
4oz Glass bottle- this was bought from Life Science Publishing**
8 drops Young Living Lavender Essential Oil
8 drops Young Living Purification Essential Oil
1 teaspoon baking soda
Put baking soda in the bottom of the glass bottle using a funnel if you have one, otherwise do you best to get it in. Then drop the oils into the bottom of the spray bottle. Fill bottle with warm water to the top of the bottle and enjoy and use! I like to spray it on our pup’s backs where most of the water is hitting them when it rains and then I will also spray a towel and use it to wipe their feet off as well.
I choose these two oils because Purification is an AMAZING oil, to helping purify the air and smells and make things smell ‘normal’ again! It is a neutralizing oil to get rid of that wet dog smell! Lavender is a great smelling oil too and I added it more for the nice soft smell that it has and let Purification do the ‘work.’
If you are interested in learning about oils let me know and I can help answer any questions or direct you to the answer if I can’t answer it for you. I have also added some links at the bottom that gives more info about the oils and where to get the glass containers.
Hope you enjoy this spray as it will help make your house smell good again even while the rain continues! This is also a great spray that can double as a Poo Spray too.
Our dogs crack me up, as you can tell, they are beyond thrilled to take pictures, hahaha. As soon as you point a camera towards them they give your ‘that look.’
