From Barista to Health and Fitness Freak
Coffee wasn’t just a ‘cup of joe’ for me, it was a job I had for nearly 9 years, slinging and ringing up coffee. Community is what was created with my coworkers and regulars. These people became like family to me rather than customers. I shared many laughs, tears, joys and sorrows with these people who became apart of my ‘family.’ Going to work everyday was fun because you got to work in a fun, fast paced environment and got to socialize, this is what drives me – community!
I learned so much over these years as a barista. I realized how much a community means to people and myself. People don’t have to be blood related to be considered family in OUR family. We just love on those who want you in their life and make an effect to be present in yours.

In 2010, is when I started my yoga and fitness career journey (I will go more in depth with later) I created a whole new community in the health and fitness industry. While teaching many yoga classes a week, and co-leading teacher trainings and bootcamps, I had such an amazing experience watching others have those same ‘aha’ moments through their journey as well as creating close knit relationships. Seeing their transformation into a yoga teacher or change their lifestyle was so rewarding for me.
After having our daughter I decided not to head back to the yoga studio I was at. Although, I was still teaching for a private business, which had an awesome group of peeps! We always have lots of laughs during class and it is light feeling. I still Ioved connecting with people, but still felt like there was a void in my life and longing for something to be back in the Health and Wellness Industry.
Now follow me in my journey from the barista life to a working mom, entrepreneur, wife, friend, fitness freak, healthy meal creator and traveler!
